A yoga teacher, nurse-midwife and family nurse practitioner, Katie Capano has been teaching yoga since 2005 and practicing medicine since 2004. Katie is constantly teaching, whether in a yoga studio, a patient room, another country, or a birthing room, and combines her 15 years of western and eastern scientific knowledge into bite-size pieces for any level of understanding. Katie teaches AcroYoga because she truly believes the social emotional learning of this practice is a path towards self-awareness and community building. When she isn’t travel- teaching, Katie loves cooking healthy food, learning to snowboard, and cuddling her partner Chris and their puppy Tina Turner.
She has been a multi-disciplined teacher for last 13 years in yoga, AcroYoga, Thai massage, acrobatics, skydiving and bodyflight.
Her real passion is in helping her students to achieve physical and emotional balance and wellness, offering them opportunities to connect with their bodies and others, mindfully and playfully.
She is also a licensed massage therapist and practices Thai Massage in Boulder CO when she’s not teaching locally or traveling to teach.
Her other passion is being in the mountains. During her free time, she can be found rock climbing, skiing, trail running, mountain biking, speed riding and enjoying her friends company.
